It might seem like an odd topic for a Lake George real estate blog, but questions about where to eat in Lake George are among the most frequently asked by my clients. As a lifetime resident of Lake George with 40+ years of real estate experience, including commercial and lakefront restaurant properties, I suppose I’m as qualified as anyone else to provide restaurant recommendations!
So the next time you need a break, why not check out the amazing food and breathtaking views at one of these Lake George restaurants?
Tavern on the Lake, Blue Water Manor
4436 Lake Shore Dr, Bolton Landing, NY 12814
Go for the views, but stay for the food. Located directly on Lake George, amid six acres of lush Adirondack pine trees overlooking beautiful Basin Bay, Blue Water Manor offers views of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains that are only rivaled by the menu. My top pick for Lake George dining, Tavern on the Lake serves great food in a casual setting.
Club Grill Steakhouse, The Sagamore Resort
55 Frank Cameron Rd, Bolton Landing, NY 12814
Perched on a hill overlooking the legendary Sagamore Golf Course, the Club Grill is Adirondack dining at its finest. Request a table on the covered patio for views of the mountains, or settle into the rustic elegance of the dining room. Their premium steaks, expertly-prepared fish and handcrafted cocktails don’t disappoint.
The Lake George Club
4000 Lake Shore Dr, Diamond Point, NY 12824
Despite its exclusivity as a “Members Only” dining experience, I couldn’t resist including The Lake George Club in Diamond Point on my list of the best places to eat in Lake George. While you’ll need to know one of the Club’s 300 members (or put your name on the waiting list) to get in, the food and service are worth the wait.
Chateau on The Lake
15 Allens Alley, Bolton Landing, NY 12814
I pressed the Foy Family to buy this property at the end of Allen’s Alley in Bolton Landing for a couple of years. I thought it was the perfect fit for this family of restauranteurs, and it turns out, it was! In 2012, Buddy Jr. and his wife Jennifer Foy developed this unique shore front property and historic building into a "landmark" on Lake George. They’ve created a superior dining experience for guests willing to pay for the Chateau’s high level of sophistication.
